SUCCESS IN THE OPENER
CU got its MEC slate underway with a 3-1 win over Frostburg State Friday. After dropping the first set to the Bobcats, Concord won the next three to improve to 1-0 in league play. Four Mountain Lions logged double-doubles in the game, led by sophomore outside hitter Meg Williams with 13 kills and a career-high 23 digs. Sophomore outside hitter Chloe Thompson racked up 12 kills and 13 digs, sophomore setter Paige Richmond tallied 25 assists and 11 digs, and sophomore setter Declyn Tooze had 24 assists and 10 digs for her fourth double-double this season. Sophomore defensive specialist Allie Davis finished with 22 digs and has recorded at least 20 digs in four straight games.

KEEP THE STREAK
After starting the year in a pair of tournaments in Colorado and North Carolina, CU's return to the Mountain State has resulted in a five-game win streak. Four of the five wins came at the 2024 Concord Classic over Davis & Elkins, Virginia State, Pikeville, and Bluefield State. CU's win over Frostburg State Friday counts as the fifth win in a row for the Maroon and Gray and are one-win shy of tying the program's longest winning streak since 2013. The six-game win streak came last fall and was ended by West Virginia State in the Carter Center.
