BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Concord University women's cross country team finished third at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invite Friday morning at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course.
Virginia Tech won the meet with 15 points. CU tallied 84 points on the day.
Junior
Katy Walkup was the top finisher for the Mountain Lions as she covered the 6,000-meter course in 23:33 to place 16
th. Senior
Madison Cornett was also in the top 20 as she placed 20
th in a showing of 24:19. Freshman
Kate Kelly (25:25) and sophomore
Sara Turner (25:25) finished back-to-back in 22
nd and 23
rd.
The final scoring runner for the Mountain Lions was sophomore
Charlotte McGinnis who clocked 26:21 to place 26
th. Freshman
Larah Blevins (27
th/26:30) and sophomore
Abbey Londeree (28
th/27:03) were the final scoring runners for CU.
Junior
Kaylee Dixon (28:31), sophomore
Piper Doughton (28:58) and senior
Baylee Bentley (31:32) also competed Friday.
Concord will be action at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh October 5.
