A NEW HIGH SCORE
The Mountain Lions found the back of the net four times in a 4-0 shutout over West Liberty Wednesday at home. Junior defender
Ted Roberts scored the third goal of the game while assisting on the second. Sophomore defender
Zakari Messam tallied his first career goal, and junior forward
Syrus Conolly notched his second goal of the season. The four goals by the Maroon and Gray were the most since October 2022 at Alderson Broaddus when they also scored four times. Concord hadn't scored four goals in a home game since netting six in the regular-season finale versus Bluefield University in 2018.
FINDING A WAY
Concord went 1-0-1 against Davis & Elkins last season as the win for the Mountain Lions had to be completed on a second day after lightning suspended the  the game. The first game started on September 10, but the final 23 minutes had to be completed at D&E in October. Senior forward
Fabian Amhof scored before the suspension of the game in a 1-0 CU win. At Davis & Elkins, sophomore forward
Ignacio Alvarez Maina, who also scored versus WLU Wednesday, recorded a goal in the 89
th minute to secure a tie for Concord. Last year's win over Davis & Elkins was the first since 2001 for the Mountain Lions.
INSTANT CLASSICS
Concord and West Virginia Wesleyan played to a pair of scoreless draws in the regular season last year before the sides met in the No. 4 vs. No. 5 game in the Mountain East Conference Tournament. Concord scored 55 seconds before penalty kicks to grab a 3-2 win in the postseason meeting. One of the two Wesleyan goals was an own goal. Two of three shots were on target for Alvarez in the tournament. CU owned a 9-7 advantage in shots in the first contest last season while the Bobcats had a 14-8 shots edge in the second contest of the regular season. Amhof accounted for four shots across two games versus WVWC. Six of the last seven games between CU and Wesleyan have been decided by one goal or ended in a tie.

SCOUTING THE SENATORS
D&E has outscored its opponents 9-1 in three road wins. Johan Magana and Francisco Lopez have each scored twice. Dominique Castano and Hugo Fauli both have three points on the campaign. Donte Ordones has only been called on to make four saves through three games. The Senators were only 3-2-4 at home last season.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
West Virginia Wesleyan is under the guidance of first-year coach Glenn Francis. However, Francis was previously the head women's soccer coach at WVWC from 2005-09. The Bobcats fell in their season opener to Frostburg State, but rebounded with a 1-0 win on the road against Wheeling Wednesday. John Hollis was the goal scorer for Wesleyan in the victory. James Docherty recorded a shutout in the win. The Bobcats travel to Charleston Sunday before hosting Concord.
