CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Concord University women's golf team finished 14
th at the two-day, 36-hole Charleston Fall Invite at Berry Hills Country Club that concluded Tuesday afternoon.
The Mountain Lions had scores of 391 and 406 as they finished with a total of 797.
Graduate student
Mary Denny bounced back from a tough day one, shooting 96, to post 85 during the second day. The Mount Hope, West Virginia native finished 57
th and rose 11 spots in the second round, finishing at 181. Among the highlights for Denny was a birdie-four on the par-5, fourth hole Tuesday.
Freshman
Sara Matos Tamargo and senior
Anna Fry tied with a tied with totals of 204. Matos Tamargo carded a 97 on the first day, and Fry shot a 98 Monday.
Freshman
Autumn Bowles fired a 213 while fellow freshman
Alexandria Denny finished at 224.
Charleston won the team event by two strokes over Glenville State, 627-629.
Emory & Henry's Abby Bradley (150) was three strokes better than GSU's Kerri-Anne Cook and Barton's Terra Schmitt to earn medalist honors.
Concord returns to the course September 16-17 for the Fairmont State Invite at Green Hills Country Club in Fairmont, West Virginia.
