ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University head women's soccer coach
Luke Duffy has announced his staff for the 2024 season.
After the departure of assistant coaches Kiaran Maule and Leigh Wightman from last year's team, Duffy has brought on Chloe Allan and
Sophie Clutter to the coaching staff. Mats Roorda will split time between the men's and women's soccer teams as the goalkeeping coach.
Allan, a native of Barnard Castle, England, comes to Concord from Minot State, a Division II school in North Dakota, where she finished her playing career in 2022. Over two seasons, Allan played in 37 career games where she scored 11 goals. Allan originally came to United States in 2018 where she started her collegiate career at Hawkeye Community College in Iowa. Allan was a two-time all-region selection at HCC.
A familiar face, Clutter returns to her alma mater as an assistant coach after concluding her playing career in the Maroon and Gray in 2023. Clutter was on Concord's 2021 Mountain East Conference and Atlantic Regional Championship team. She appeared in seven games as a senior, primarily as a defender, but did score her first career goal against Fairmont State.
Both coaches will be in Concord's graduate programs while assisting on the sidelines.
Roorda is also a graduate student while coaching. He brings Division I goalkeeping experience to CU. The native of Groningen, Netherlands initially played four seasons at Binghamton in New York before finishing up at Seton Hall last season. Over five seasons of college soccer, Roorda appeared in 54 games. For Seton Hall, Roorda made 55 saves in 15 games while posting a record of 6-6-3.
The Mountain Lions open the season September 5 at Kutztown in a rematch of last year's NCAA First Round Tournament game.
