INDIANAPOLIS – The Concord University men's soccer team is listed as one of the 12 teams that is being considered for the NCAA Division II Tournament from Super Region 1, the NCAA announced Wednesday afternoon.
Wednesday's release only list teams alphabetically without an official ranking. The next two releases over the following weeks will rank teams.
Along with Concord, Adelphi, Bloomsburg, Caldwell, Charleston, Felician, Franklin Pierce, Gannon, Mercy, Post, Queens (N.Y.) and Southern New Hampshire were the teams in Wednesday's release.
The top 10 teams from Super Region 1 advance to the NCAA Tournament with five bids being handed out from automatic qualifiers in conference tournaments from the Mountain East Conference, East Coast Conference, Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, Northeast 10 and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. The other five bids will come from at-large teams.
The Mountain Lions are 11-2-2 this season ahead of Wednesday's game at Emory & Henry. CU is tied for the third most wins among Super Region 1 teams.
