BLUEFIELD, Va. – The Concord University men's golf team placed eighth at the Bluefield State Invite Monday and Tuesday at Fincastle Country Club.
Concord shot rounds of 329 and 312 to finish with a two-day total of 641. Bluefield State was the winning team with a total of 576. BSU's William Hixon and Virginia Union's Joseph Graham tied for first at 143.
CU's top finisher was senior
Indiana Eades who tied for 19
th at 152. Eades carded a 79 on Monday, but rebounded with a 74 on Tuesday. He tallied four birdies during the second round, including back-to-back threes on the 15
th and 16
th, both par-4s. Eades added birdies on the par-4 second second and the par-4 fifth.
Freshman
Jonah Willson scored 82 and 81 to finish in a tie for 41
st at 163. Willson birdied two of the first five holes during the opening round with a four on the par-5 third and a three on the fifth. Freshman
Coltan Farrell was one stroke back of Willson for the tournament at 164. Included in Farrell's rounds was a career-low 79 on Tuesday.
Freshman
Kelly Pimenov II totaled a tournament score of 165, and senior
Peyton Watts also scored 165 for 36 holes. Watts' 78 on Tuesday was one stroke off his season best of 77 that was carded earlier this fall at the West Liberty Invite.
The Bluefield State Invite concluded the fall season for the Mountain Lions.
