EXTENDING THE STREAK
For the first time this season, Concord won a game in which it trailed at halftime as it came back from a 1-0 deficit to down Point Park 2-1 Wednesday afternoon at home. Junior midfielder Malher Santi Possu was responsible for both goals as he scored three minutes apart in the 78th and 81st minutes. Three of the four assists on the goals came from CU defenders—juniors Julian Correa and Kai Forsyth as well as sophomore Zakari Messam. The four-game win streak for the Mountain Lions is the longest in program history, dating back to 1998. Additionally, CU's home unbeaten streak is now 11 games as it gone 9-0-2 at home since a September 20 loss to Charleston last year.

SOLVING THE BOBCATS
The Mountain Lions have only beaten West Virginia Wesleyan four times in program history in 27 tries. However, Concord has won the last two games versus WVWC that includes a 3-2 win in dramatic fashion in last year's MEC Tournament Quarterfinals as well as a 4-0 victory earlier this fall. The four goals scored by the Maroon and Gray are the most against WVWC for Concord in series history. Four different players—sophomore forward Ignacio Alvarez Maina, sophomore forward Syrus Conolly, freshman midfielder Kyle Gordon and Possu accounted for the scoring. All four goals came after halftime. The seven goals scored by CU versus West Virginia Wesleyan in the last two games came after Concord had been shutout in three straight games by WVWC.

GOALS GALORE
In the home opener this season, Concord posted four goals in a shutout win over West Liberty. Alvarez, Conolly, Messam and junior defender Ted Roberts all scored in the game with Roberts having a three-point game after assisting on Alvarez's goal from a corner kick. On Wednesday, Possu became the second player with a brace for CU this season after Alvarez scored twice in a win over Wheeling on the road. As a team, Concord has scored at least one goal in all 12 games this year. And the 28 goals that the Mountain Lions have tallied is already the fourth most in program history for a single season.
