FROSTBURG, Md. – Two second-half goals propelled the Concord University men's soccer team to a shutout win over Frostburg State, 2-0, Saturday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference game at Bobcat Stadium.
The first half featured just three total shots with junior defender
Ted Roberts accounting for the Concord (7-2-2, 6-1-2 MEC) shot.
The Mountain Lions were able to break the ice in the 57
th minute with Roberts coming up with his third goal of the season. The Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines native booted a corner kick into the box. FSU (6-4-1, 4-4-1 MEC) was unable to clear the ball of the line before it went across, giving Roberts the score.
Over the next eight minutes, Frostburg State took five shots, but was unable to solve junior goalkeeper

Richard Henry slid a pass to senior forward
Fabian Amhof who scored from a sharp right angle inside the penalty area. It was Amhof's first goal of the season.
From there, Scargill saved Frostburg State shots in the 72
nd and 87
th minutes to complete the shutout. He also got help from the woodwork as one FSU shot hit off the right post and another went off the crossbar.
In total, Scargill collected five saves in earning his third shutout of the season.
CU won despite being outshot, 18-4. FSU owned a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Mountain Lions play the first of back-to-back home game versus Point Park 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Callaghan Stadium.
