CU started the season with a 3-0 win over Salem Sunday afternoon at home in the first career game for head coach

st minute to extend the lead to 2-0. Going back to last year, Concord has scored two or more goals in three of its last five games.
DEFENSIVE MINDED
The Mountain Lions outshot Salem 12-7 in the contest, including holding the Tigers to one shot in the first 45 minutes. The backline defense of sophomore

Dwight Savoury held SU to three shots on goal. Sardinha added an assist in the contest on Nicholson's goal in the 89
th minute. Sophomore goalkeeper
Keegan Grant earned his first career shutout by saving three shots on target in the second half. It also was the third career game for Grant allowing one goal or less.
TURNING THE TIDE
Concord won three of the first four all-time meetings against West Liberty, but since the start of the 2021 spring season the Hilltoppers have won five straight over the Mountain Lions. WLU won 4-1 at home last season in Concord's third game of the season before defeating CU in Beckley 3-1 in mid-October. Kelly assisted on CU's home goal while senior midfielder
Ricardo Chinea-Pegler was responsible for scoring. The Mountain Lions outshot WLU at home last season, 16-7. And at West Liberty was only outshot 9-6. Â

SCOUTING THE HILLTOPPERS
Only a program since 2017, West Liberty scored its biggest win in team history by rolling past nationally-ranked, 12
th-rated Davis & Elkins 4-0 Saturday night on the road. Veteran player Vitor Otsuka scored the game's first goal in the 21
st minute before assisting on two second-half goals. WLU's defense held the Senators to five shots for the game. Noah Underwood is back in goal for West Liberty as a sixth-year player.
