GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Concord University football team lost 44-7 at Glenville State Saturday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference game at Morris Stadium.
The Mountain Lions (0-8, 0-7 MEC) got an early turnover as junior defensive back
Kevin Howard intercepted Glenville State's Anthony Garrett on the sixth play of the game.
However, CU was unable to take advantage of the field position near the midfield stripe.
Glenville State (4-3, 3-3 MEC) scored 10 minutes into the contest, and added 16 second-quarter points to open up a 23-0 advantage at halftime.
CU got on the board at the 7:26 mark of the third quarter as senior quarterback
Jack Mangel capped a 10-play drive with a 10-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver
Alvin Howard. It was Mangel's 75
th career touchdown.
Mangel finished the day with 140 yards through the air and the second-half touchdown. Sixth-year wide receiver
Kris Copeland caught a game-best 10 passes for 52 yards.

Kendall Bournes and junior linebacker
Jamari Smith both recorded nine tackles. Junior defensive back
Mekhi Williams racked up eight tackles (seven solo).
The Mountain Lions return to Callaghan Stadium to face West Virginia Wesleyan 2:00 p.m. October 28.
