GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Concord University men's basketball team was unable to slow down Glenville State as it was defeated 81-79 Saturday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference matchup inside the Waco Center.
CU (10-7, 7-5 MEC) raced out to a 15-5 lead over the first seven minutes and raised the lead to 14 points, 24-10, after two free throws from senior forward

After Glenville State (12-6, 8-4 MEC) made a run, a three-pointer from junior guard
Jordan Wooden stopped the run as CU assumed a double-digit lead of 32-21. From there, GSU used a 15-4 run to close the gap to 38-36 at halftime.
The Pioneers came out of the locker room and went up 49-44 on Concord four minutes into the second half. CU kept chase the Glenville State lead throughout the second half. Wooden scored eight straight points to get the Mountain Lions within 66-65 at the 7:23 mark of the second half. GSU answered with four straight points, and Concord never got close than three points over the final 5:49 of the contest.
Graduate guard Daniel Rahama finished with 23 points to go with 16 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season. He was 9-for-15 from the floor. Laidler added 15 points. Spurred by his second-half outburst, Wooden finished with 14 points. Junior guard
JJ Harper netted 11 points.
Concord shot 46.3 percent for the game.
The Mountain Lions conclude their road trip 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Notre Dame.
