ELKINS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team was defeated 6-0 by nationally-ranked Davis & Elkins Wednesday night in a Mountain East Conference contest at Nuttall Field.
The Mountain Lions (2-9-2, 1-8-1 MEC) hung tough with sixth-ranked D&E (11-1, 10-1 MEC) for the first 75 minutes of the game as Concord found itself only trailing 1-0 at halftime. Freshman goalkeeper
Tommy Smith made three saves in the first half to keep it a one-goal deficit.
Davis & Elkins added a second goal in the 62
nd minute. The Senators went on a scoring spree in the final 15 minutes of the contest for the margin of victory.

Ricardo Chinea-Pegler also had a shot on goal. Smith tallied a career-best 10 saves.
CU welcomes West Liberty to the YMCA Cline Complex in Beckley 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Prior to the game, the program's seniors will be honored.
