Concord Downs Glenville State for 3-0 Road Win

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team picked up a 3-0 road win against Glenville State Wednesday night in a Mountain East Conference game at Morris Stadium.

Senior forward Leah Foster got the Mountain Lions (8-0, 6-0 MEC) on the board in the 10th minute as she took a pass from junior forward Courtney Smith and connected on her sixth goal of the season. Meanwhile, it was the sixth assist for Smith.

Concord had to wait until the second half on its next goal despite a flurry of action in the 18th minute. Junior midfielder Michelle Brogden rang a shot off the cross bar while 25 seconds later sophomore defender Olivia Bekeleski had her shot saved.

Fifth-year senior midfielder Yasmin Mosby had got two good looks at goal in the 21st minute, but was denied.

However, Mosby wasn't turned away in the 59th minute as she hammered home a penalty kick after Foster was fouled in the penalty area. The goal was Mosby's 11th of the season.

Just seven minutes later, junior defender Zoe Belding chipped her second goal of the season over GSC (1-6, 0-6 MEC) goalkeeper Morgan Smailes to stretch the lead to 3-0.

Concord's defense faced just two shots for the game with both not being on target. CU outshot the Pioneers 20-2 and had nine shots on goal.

Mosby recorded six shots while Belding had four.

The Mountain Lions host West Virginia State 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
