Concord Finishes Up Road Trip with 4-0 Win Against Davis & Elkins

ELKINS, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team rolled past Davis & Elkins, 4-0, Sunday evening in Mountain East Conference action at Nuttall Field to remain unbeaten this season.

Concord (5-0, 3-0 MEC), like in Wednesday's game at West Virginia State, scored three times after halftime to turn a slim 1-0 edge into a four-goal victory over the Senators (0-3, 0-2 MEC).

Fifth-year senior midfielder Yasmin Mosby started her three-goal night by scoring on an assist from junior forward Courtney Smith in the 10th minute.

The Mountain Lions had five more shots on goal in the opening half, but were denied a larger lead by D&E's Katie Clarke.

In the 56th minute, senior forward Leah Foster slid a pass to junior defender Zoe Belding who netted her first goal of the season to double the Concord lead. Meanwhile, Mosby was able to finish off her second career hat trick with goals in the 63rd and 68th minutes, both unassisted.

Senior goalkeeper Leah Marsh recorded her third shutout of the season as she was only forced to make two saves in the game along with the help of her backline defense of sophomore Olivia Bekeleski and fifth-year senior defenders Morgan Carmichael and Alyssa Mahar.

Concord outshot the Senators 21-3 for the game. Mosby had six shots while Foster added four. Belding tallied three total shots.

After a four-game road trip, the Mountain Lions return to the YMCA Paul Cline Complex in Beckley, West Virginia for a 5:30 p.m. contest Wednesday against West Virginia Wesleyan.
