ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team plays back-to-back home games when it hosts Notre Dame 1:00 p.m. Sunday and West Virginia Wesleyan 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the YMCA Paul Cline Soccer Complex in Beckley, West Virginia in a pair of Mountain East Conference clashes.

LIVE COVERAGE
Stats: The Concord University Sports Information Department will provide live in-game statistics for both contests.
Video: Live streaming video will also be provided by Concord for both games.

RECORDS
The Mountain Lions will be seeking their first win of the season as they are 0-4 overall and 0-3 versus league foes.

Notre Dame had a delayed start to the season and is 1-1 both overall and in the MEC.

West Virginia Wesleyan is 3-0 overall and 2-0 versus the MEC.

HOME COOKIN'
Sunday will be just the second home game of the season for the Maroon and Gray as they previously lost 2-0 to West Liberty September 8. However, the game was much closer than the final score line may have indicted. WLU only had one more shot in the game than CU, 13-12, and the final shots on goal tally was even at six. Sophomore midfielder Ricardo Chinea-Pegler had two shots on goals in the contest while fellow sophomore midfielder Juan Farinella and junior midfielder Michael Shelor each posted two total shots against West Liberty. Dating back to the spring season, Concord's defense has allowed six or fewer shots on goal in five consecutive games.

THE WAIT IS OVER
Concord will be hosting both Notre Dame and WVWC in the coming days after neither team paid a visit to Beckley during the spring season—CU matched up against both teams on the road. Both Concord and Wesleyan scored in the first 30 minutes of an October 20, 2019 home meeting as senior forward Daniel Culverwell assisted on the Mountain Lions' goal in the 30th minute. It wasn't until the final five minutes of the match that WVWC broke through for the game winner. CU held a potent Notre Dame offense to one goal in the first 85 minutes in early November 2019 at home before the Falcons found the back of the net in the 86th minute.

IRON MAN
Junior defender Daniel Haworth is two starts away from 30 career appearance in head coach Steve Barrett's starting lineup. The London native has missed just one game in his career and has been a stabilizing force in Concord's central defense this season. In fact, three of the four defenders for the Mountain Lions—the other two freshmen Esteban Correa and Ted Penn—are the only CU players that have started all four games this season.

NOTRE DAME AT A GLANCE
Notre Dame bounced back from a 2-0 loss to Charleston to defeat West Liberty, 6-2, on Wednesday. Ned Dry scored twice and assisted on a third goal in the convincing win. NDC was actually tied with West Liberty early in the second half before the Falcons scored four times in the last 40 minutes. Notre Dame was held to one shot on goal against Charleston.

WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN AT A GLANCE
West Virginia Wesleyan head coach Gavin Donaldson along with CU's Barrett are the second and third-most tenured coaches in the MEC, trailing only Wheeling's Jim Regan. Donaldson is in his 31st year at WVWC and picked up career win 350 during the spring season. Tanner Amos and Connor Hartwell have both scored twice for the Bobcats this season. Wesleyan is fresh off a 4-0 victory over Wheeling in which three of the four goals came in the final 10 minutes.
