ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University baseball team rallied in game two to defeat Glenville State 10-9 after dropping the first game, 3-2, to earn a Sunday split.
The Mountain Lions (15-21, 14-18 MEC) advance to the Mountain East Conference Tournament for the 23
rd consecutive year with junior infielder
Anthony Stehlin's two-run walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh of game two. GSC's (18-19, 14-18 MEC) season ends with the game two loss.
Game 1: Glenville State 3 – Concord 2
GSC scored twice in the top of the seventh of game one to force a decisive fourth game of the series with the winner moving onto the conference tournament.
CU tied the game in the bottom of the fifth on Stehlin's sacrifice fly before taking a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning with a single into left field by freshman catcher

Glenville State came right back with a leadoff home run in the seventh to tie the game, and took the lead later in the frame on an infield single.
Junior catcher
Chance Davis and Stehlin combined for four of Concord's seven hits in game one. Freshman utility
Eddie Blake received a no decision in the game as he went six innings and allowed just one run on four hits. Stehlin (1-1) was charged with the loss in relief.
Game 2: Concord 10 – Glenville State 9
The Mountain Lions withstood a seven-run sixth inning by Glenville State as Stehlin came through with the hit of the season for CU.
Concord raced out to a 6-0 lead through four innings, and still led 8-2 after five. However, after a weather delay of about 25 minutes due to high winds and rain, Glenville State surged ahead as the Pioneers brought in seven runs during the sixth inning rally.
Freshman pitcher
Justyn Hudson was able to keep the deficit at 9-8 by retiring the side in order in top of the seventh to set up Stehlin's dramatics in the bottom half.

Josh Adkins led off the frame with a base hit before junior outfielder
Jon Osteen and freshman infielder
Zack Saryeldin reached on a hit by pitch and walk, respectively. Stehlin stepped in and singled through the left side to plate the tying and game-winning runs. It capped a 2-for-4 with three RBI day for the Woodbridge, Virginia native.

Evan Antonellis were all 2-for-4 in the nightcap. At the bottom of the order, Adkins and Osteen only combined for two official at-bats but each drove in two runs.
Senior pitcher
Spencer Hoyt received a no decision as he allowed four runs on four hits to go with four strikeouts. Hoyt retired 10 straight Pioneers between the first and fifth innings. Hudson (1-0) earned the win in relief as he got the final four outs of the game.
The Mountain Lions face Wheeling 3:30 p.m. Thursday in their first game of the MEC Tournament at Epling Stadium in Beckley, West Virginia.
