ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team wraps up its two-game homestand when it hosts Alderson Broaddus 5:00 p.m. Friday at the YMCA Paul Cline Complex in Beckley, West Virginia.

CONFINES OF HOME
CU wraps up the home portion of its eight-game spring season Friday night when it welcomes the Battlers to Beckley. The Mountain Lions finish the season with road contests against Charleston and Notre Dame. Concord had previously played two one-goal games at home—a double overtime 1-0 loss to Davis & Elkins and a 1-0 win over Frostburg State—before falling 3-0 to West Liberty. Five of the previous seven games for CU at home have been decided by a goal. Additionally, the Mountain Lions had an overall scoreless streak of 234 minutes ended by WLU last week.

Concord recorded four shots on goal against West Liberty with all from coming from either midfielders or defenders. Sophomore midfielder

DOWN TO THE WIRE
The Mountain Lions host Alderson Broaddus for the first time since 2011. Friday will be the first meeting between the two schools in men's soccer since the fall of 2012. AB holds a 5-2 edge in the all-time series. The last three games have been decided by one goal. The Battlers won 2-1 in 2012. Concord recorded a 3-2 overtime win in 2011 with former first team all-conference player Ivan Deyanov scoring two goals, and Caleb Bone, who was also an all-conference player in 2011, netting the game winner. Alderson Broaddus won at home, 1-0, in 2012.
ALDERSON BROADDUS AT A GLANCE
The Battlers' lone win of the season came against West Virginia Wesleyan at home, 2-1. The latest game for AB was a 3-2 defeat to Wheeling that featured 34 total shots. Alderson Broaddus is allowing an average of 2.5 goals per game which is the second highest in the MEC. Diego Gomez has saved 19 shots which is also second in the conference. Nathan Djona has accounted for two of the five goals scored by the Battlers.
