ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team prepares to face Charleston at the YMCA Paul Cline Complex in Beckley, West Virginia in the final game of the 2021 fall season Sunday at 1:00 pm.

RECORDS
CU is 2-15 overall and 2-13 in conference play.

Charleston is 14-1-1 overall and 13-1-1 in MEC games.

THE LAST DANCE
Fifth-year senior goalkeeper Kyle Brown will make his final start for the Mountain Lions. It will be Brown's 55th career appearance in net. The Warren, Ohio native is currently ranked third in Division II in both total saves (100) and saves per game (6.67). Brown has 24 saves in his last three games. Brown's 331 career saves are the most among active Division II players. Sunday will also be the last time senior defender Adrian Cabello puts on the Maroon and Gray of Concord.

DEFENSIVE ATTACK
In Sunday's match against Alderson Broaddus, junior defender Daniel Haworth notched his first career goal. CU defenders have had a huge impact in the stat sheet. Freshman defender Ted Penn is currently tied for the team lead in points with seven. Penn also tied for second on the team in goals with two. One of those goals came in the win against Wheeling. Other defenders to score this season include senior Tristan Bragg, freshman Esteban Correa and sophomore Ezequiel Villarreal.

PLAYING THE BEST
Sunday will be the 19th consecutive time the Mountain Lions play Charleston when the Golden Eagles are ranked in the top 25 in Division II. UC has been ranked every year it has played Concord since a meeting during the 2011 season. Brown and freshman goalkeeper Marco Aona combined for eight saves in the first meeting with Charleston this season.

CHARLESTON AT A GLANCE
The Golden Eagles are led by senior forward Gabriel Rodriguez who leads the team in goals (ten) and points (26). Junior midfielder Eduardo Iranzo leads the team in assists with seven. Freshman goalkeeper Marc Torrado is 10-0 this season with a save percentage of 79.2% on 45 shots faced.  CU has never defeated Charleston in their all-time series. Charleston is ranked fifth in the United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25 Poll and second in the Mountain East Conference standings. The Mountain Lions fell to Charleston earlier in the season, 5-0.
