Concord Prepares to Face Frostburg State in the Conference Championship Game

BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team prepares to face Frostburg State in the MEC Conference Championship, Sunday at 1:00 pm at the YMCA Paul Cline Complex in Beckley, West Virginia.

RECORDS
Concord is 16-0-3 overall and 13-0-3 in conference play.

Frostburg State is 12-5-2 overall and 10-4-2 in MEC games.


CU POSTSEASON STREAK
The Mountain Lions have now reached the MEC Tournament five consecutive years. This fall season is the fourth consecutive postseason where CU is in the conference title game. Concord fell to Notre Dame, 1-0, in last season's MEC championship game. The last time CU won the conference title was in 2019 where they defeated Fairmont State, 2-0, and advanced to the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship. Goals were scored by current fifth-year midfielder Yasmin Mosby and junior forward Rachel Bell.

CU and Frostburg State meet for the second time this season. Concord defeated the Bobcats by a final score of 2-0. Goals were scored by Mosby and senior forward Leah Foster. Mosby also recorded an assist during the match. Senior goalkeeper Leah Marsh saved all five of Frostburg's shots on net.
 
FROSTBURG STATE AT A GLANCE
The Bobcats are coming off a 2-1 victory over Charleston in the semifinals of the MEC Tournament. FSU is led by forward Alexis Pate. Pate is the Bobcats leader in goals (seven) and points (14). Goalkeeper Ashley Bilger is 12-5-2 this season with a save percentage of 79.4 percent on 142 shots faced.
