ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team begins a two-game home stand 12:30 p.m. Sunday when it faces Wheeling before playing Frostburg State 5:00 p.m. Wednesday in a pair of Mountain East Conference games at the YMCA Paul Cline Complex in Beckley, West Virginia.

RECORDS
Concord is 0-9 overall and 0-7 in the conference.
Wheeling is 3-6 this season and has an MEC mark of 2-5.
FSU is 4-5-1 in 2021 and is one game under .500 in the conference at 4-5.
APPROACHING THE SUMMIT
Fifth-year senior goalkeeper
Kyle Brown recorded three saves at Charleston Wednesday night, pushing him to within three saves of the career record at CU. The Warren, Ohio native now stands at 280 career saves with Mitchell Thompson's career mark of 282 within reach Sunday. Overall, Brown's save mark ranks fourth among active players with Lake Erie's Tom John leading the way at 289. Though he did not play against Frostburg State or Wheeling in the spring, in 2019 Brown combined for 13 saves in three games against the two schools.
DOWN TO THE WIRE
Four straight matchups between Concord and Wheeling have been decided with the Mountain Lions winning the last two. Near the end of the 2019 season, CU grabbed a 2-1 home win over the Cardinals. Junior midfielder
Ben Greear assisted on the game-tying goal in the 56
th minute before Concord scored six minutes later. During the spring season, the Maroon and Gray notched a double-overtime goal to pick up a 1-0 road win. Senior defender

Sean Monro made six saves to preserve the shutout.
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE
Wednesday will be the fifth meeting between Concord and Frostburg State as conference foes. CU is 1-0-1 against the Bobcats in games played at home while it has yet to score a goal in two losses road losses to FSU. In his first collegiate start, Monro stopped three shots to help Concord to a 1-0 win March 5. Senior forward
Daniel Culverwell came up with four shots and two on goal in the contest. Brown stopped five shots in a 0-0 tie to open the 2019 MEC slate.
WHEELING AT A GLANCE
The Cardinals come in having lost five straight since a 2-1 win over Frostburg State September 19. In those five games, Wheeling has only scored two goals. Richard Afolayanka has scored four times this season. Head coach Jim Regan is in his 36
th season at Wheeling, ranking as the most-tenured coach in the MEC with CU's
Steve Barrett as the third most-tenured.
FROSTBURG STATE AT A GLANCE
Frostburg State has only scored 10 goals this season, but finds itself one game below .500. Defensively, the Bobcats have given up seven goals this season. Zach Harpel and Malek She are the only FSU players with multiple goals this season with one of Shedid's goals coming in the September 5 game against the Mountain Lions.
