BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Concord University women's soccer team scored a season-high seven goals on its way to a 7-0 win over Wheeling Wednesday night in a Mountain East Conference game at the YMC Paul Cline Complex.
Senior forward
Leah Foster started the scoring with a goal in the 12
th minute, but the Mountain Lions (12-0-3, 10-0-3 MEC) would have to wait out an 18-minute delay due to the lights going out before resuming play and finding the back of the net.
Junior forward
Courtney Smith scored the next CU goals in the 26
th and 33
rd minute, her first goals of the season.
Concord's stood strong on the other end of the field as it held Wheeling (3-11-1, 2-10-1 MEC) without a shot in the first half.
Fifth-year senior midfielder
Yasmin Mosby deposited her 16
th goal of the season in the 53
rd minute to stretch the lead to 4-0. Two minutes later, junior midfielder
Michelle Brogden finished off a cross from Foster to push the advantage to 5-0.
Perhaps, the most impressive goal of the night came from junior defender
Edie deMedicis who lofted a free kick from 35 yards into the back of the net in the 66
th minute. It was the first career goal for the Windsor, South Carolina native.

Nora Voisey concluded the scoring with her second career goal in the 78
th minute.

Rachel Bell and Foster accounted for assists on Wednesday night. Wednesday night also represented the highest scoring output since CU had nine goals in a win over Glenville State during the spring season—April 9.
The Mountain Lions had a 37-2 advantage in shots with neither of WU's attempts coming on frame.
Smith became the fourth different Concord player with a two-goal game this season, joining Bell, Foster and Mosby.
CU continues its home stand when it welcomes Alderson-Broaddus to the Cline Complex 1:00 p.m. Sunday.
