ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team begins a two-game road trip to Alderson-Broaddus 2:00 p.m. Sunday before finishing up against nationally-ranked Charleston 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in two Mountain East Conference contests.

LIVE STATS
Stats: Both host institutions will provide live in-game statistics of the games involving CU.
Video: Live streaming video will also be available Sunday and Wednesday.

RECORDS
The Mountain Lions are 0-7 this season and 0-5 versus MEC foes.

A-B sports a record of 2-6 overall and is 1-5 in the conference.

Charleston is ranked 8th in the latest Division II Coaches' Poll with a record of 6-1 overall and 5-1 in the MEC.

CREATING CHANCES
The last time out for CU was a 2-1 defeat to non-conference opponent Shaw as all three goals were scored in the first half, including Concord's by junior midfielder Michael Shelor. The Mountain Lions outshot SU for the game, 14-12, as they had their most shots in a game since tallying 19 in a 2-1 win over Wheeling October 30, 2019. Shelor paced the effort with four shots while senior defender Adrian Cabello added three shots. Both shots for freshman defender Ted Penn were on target against Shaw. With Penn assisting on Shelor's goal, it marked the third straight game that a CU defender has either scored or assisted on a Mountain Lions' goal. Freshman defender Esteban Correa netted a score against West Virginia Wesleyan while sophomore defender Ezequiel Villarreal scored against Notre Dame.

DOWN TO THE WIRE
Concord hosted Alderson-Broaddus in Beckley during the spring season as the Battlers scored in the 96th minute to down CU, 1-0. The 12 shots CU recorded in the narrow defeat were evenly distributed as sophomore midfielder Ricardo Chinea-Pegler, senior forward Daniel Culverwell, senior midfielder Tomas Fanello and sophomore forward Robbie Stiles all had two shots. Though hosting A-B during the spring season, Sunday will be the first trip to Alderson-Broaddus for the Mountain Lions since September 19, 2012 when Concord dropped 2-1 decision despite outshooting the Battlers, 9-7.

FACING THE BEST
Wednesday will mark the eighth consecutive time that Concord faces Charleston when it is not only ranked in the top 25 of the national poll, but in the top 10. Back in the spring, the Golden Eagles were rated as the top team in Division II. Chinea-Pegler scored his second goal of the spring season against UC as the Mountain Lions dropped the contest.

ALDERSON-BROADDUS AT A GLANCE
The Battlers have defeated West Liberty and Seton Hill this season. This past week, Alderson-Broaddus took Notre Dame to overtime before NDC won 3-2. Andreas Rossak has scored three goals while Nathan Djona and Tanner Kidwell have each tallied two scores. The 17 goals allowed by A-B are the third most in the MEC.

CHARLESTON AT A GLANCE
The lone loss for UC on the season came at home versus Davis & Elkins as the Golden Eagles lost their first conference game in five years. However, Charleston has outscored opponents, 19-3, in seven games this season. Alejandro Larrayoz and Sebastian Pavez have both scored four times. James Raptis is the top assist man with four this season. Marc Tarrado has only faced 10 shots this season in goal, making eight saves.
