AKRON, Ohio – The Concord University men's basketball team fell to Akron, 100-50, Sunday afternoon in an exhibition at James A. Rhodes Arena.

CU held serve in the eight minutes of the game as sophomore guard Seth Brown sank two foul shots to get the Mountain Lions within six points of Akron, 17-11, at the 12:39 mark of the first half. Part of the early success for the Mountain Lions was them holding UA to 45.5 percent (5-for-11) from the floor.

However, the Zips were able to go on an 11-0 run after the two Brown free throws to open up a 28-11 lead with 9:37 remaining in the first half. And UA was able to keep its lead above 15 for the remainder of the first half. But, the Mountain Lions did make it difficult on Akron to make shots from three-point range as CU held the Zips to 18.8 percent from distance (3-for-16) in the first half.

Junior forward Liam Evans scored 15 with nine coming in the first half. Junior guard/forward Malik Johnson added 10 points. Junior forward David Bea Mulumba went for a team-high six rebounds.
