CLARION, Pa. – Senior offensive lineman
Derek Dressler of the Concord University football team has been selected to the Don Hansen Football Gazette All-Super Region One Team as a third-team member.
Dressler earns his first career all-region honor with Friday's announcement. At the conclusion of the 2018 season, the Covington, Virginia native was tabbed to the All-Mountain East Conference Team.
A starter of 35 consecutive games to close his career, Dressler also appeared in 40 games in the Maroon and Gray and spent the last two seasons as the starting center for CU. This past season, Dressler and his offensive line mates helped Concord to 330 yards of offense per game which was the highest per game total since the 2015 season. Additionally, Dressler did not miss an offensive snap as a senior.
Over the last four seasons, Concord has had at least one offensive lineman voted to the Don Hansen All-Region team three times.
Notre Dame's Jaleel McLaughlin was the Don Hansen Football Gazette Offensive Player of the Year while California's (Pa.) Lamont McPhatter was the defensive player of the year. Lyrics Klugh from Fairmont State was the special teams player of the year while NDC's Mike Jacobs was the regional coach of the year.
