CU erased a 6-3 deficit as it scored eight runs in its final two at-bats to take the first game of the doubleheader.
The Storm scored at least one run in their first four at-bats including two runs in the fourth to take a 6-3 edge. CU plated a run in the second inning on a sacrifice fly from junior infielder
Adrian Peralta. The Mountain Lions came back with two scores in the third on an RBI single from junior outfielder
Evan Webb and senior infielder
Chad Frazier raced home on a wild pitch.
When it appeared Lake Erie may extend its lead in the fifth inning, with runners on first and third and one out, senior outfielder
Adam Linkous came out of the bullpen to induce one of three double plays on the day to get CU to the bat rack.
Concord made the most of its opportunity in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Senior catcher
Paul Williams lined a single into left field to start the scoring in the fifth as he plated Frazier and sophomore infielder
Nathan Neff. After Williams came around on a throwing error from Lake Erie, sophomore infielder
Jakob Divers bounced a double over the first base bag to cap the rally as junior catcher / outfielder
Jordan Clark and Peralta came in.
After the fifth, CU led 8-6.
The Mountain Lions added three insurance runs in the sixth as Webb recorded two more RBI and Divers collected his third RBI of the game with a single through the right side.
Linkous quieted the LEC offense by allowing just three hitters to reach base in the final three innings as he struck out three batters, and gave up one hit while picking up his first collegiate win.
Divers and Webb each finished with two hits and three RBI. Williams had two hits, two RBI and three runs scored.
Game 2: Concord 8 – Lake Erie 2
Concord controlled the nightcap to sweep the doubleheader and win the series two games to one.
