WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team lost a three-set contest to West Liberty at the ASRC Friday night in a Mountain East Conference contest.
The Hilltoppers (20-8, 8-4 MEC) took the match 25-17, 25-16, 25-16.
WLU jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first set as it took the game by eight points.
Concord (5-22, 2-10 MEC) took an early 5-3 lead in the second game after a kill from senior outside hitter
Ellie Lawrence. West Liberty battled back to tie the set at 10-10 before CU took an 11-10 edge after a WLU error. But, the Hilltoppers went on a 9-2 run to grab a 19-13 lead. The Mountain Lions could not get any closer than six points the rest of the set.
Like the first set, West Liberty started the set on a 9-2 spurt. CU was only able to get as close as six in the set, 12-6, as the Hilltoppers took the set by nine points.

Jenna Mounts added 11 assists.
CU plays a pair of matches Saturday at Wheeling Jesuit. Concord faces WJU at 11:00 a.m. before taking on Virginia State in a neutral court match at 1:00 p.m.
