SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Concord University men's basketball team was downed by Shepherd 91-73 in Mountain East Conference action at the Butcher Center Thursday night.

The Rams (7-6, 3-4 MEC) pulled away from Concord (8-4, 5-2 MEC) midway through the second half after CU had made a run of its own to cut an 11-point halftime deficit to two points after a three-pointer from sophomore forward

With Brisco's triple, the Mountain Lions trailed 53-51 after being down 47-36 at intermission.

A running layup on the offensive end for Shepherd kick started an 11-0 run that saw the Rams build their lead back to 66-51 with 11 minutes left in the contest.

CU was unable to get the deficit back to single digits for the remainder of the contest.

The first half was much like the second half. The teams traded the lead three times in the first 10 minutes of the contest. A jumper by junior guard
Tommy Bolte pulled to within 24-23 with 9:56 left in the first half. From there, Shepherd finished the opening 20 minutes on an elongated 23-14 spurt.

Bolte just missed his fourth 40-point game of the season. The Chillicothe, Ohio native poured in 38 points on 13-for-20 shooting and matched his career high with five three-pointers.
