ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's basketball team had an 82-65 setback against Charleston Thursday night in Mountain East Conference action at the Carter Center.
Charleston (10-7, 6-5 MEC) held CU (8-8, 5-6 MEC) to 31 percent shooting in the first half as it carried a 48-30 lead into the halftime break.
The Golden Eagles were able to gain their separation from Concord with a 17-6 run that span nearly eight minutes of the first half in which the score went from being tied at 9-9 with 16:49 left in the half to a 26-15 Charleston advantage with 8:50 remaining in the opening half.
To start the second half, Concord was able to cut the 18-point halftime deficit down to 52-42 after junior guard
Tommy Bolte knocked down a three-pointer with 14:34 left in the contest. However, it was the closest that the Mountain Lions would get for the remainder of the contest.
Bolte netted a game-high 26 points on 7-for-14 shooting including connecting on all three three-point attempts in the contest.

Antonio Patterson added six points.
CU owned a 38-34 edge on the glass as sophomore
Trey Brisco and freshman forward
Jyles Webster each had seven rebounds.
The Mountain Lions take to the road for the first of two contests away from the Carter Center when they play UVa.-Wise 4:00 p.m. Saturday.
