WJU is 2-5-1 and 0-4 in the conference.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
CU is racked up four goals in the 4-1 victory over Shepherd. It was the second straight game in which the Mountain Lions scored four times.
It was the first time Concord has scored four goals in consecutive games since 2010 when it tallied six goals against Salem International and followed it up with a five-goal performance versus Virginia Intermont.
With the recent scoring frenzy, CU has vaulted itself into a tie for third in goals scored in the MEC with 15.
Sophomore forward
Sam Ashton notched two goals at Urbana to move his season total to five and 12 for his career. Ashton is tied for fifth in the conference in goals in 2017.
Senior midfielder
Alex Rhodes and sophomore midfielder
Maxime Ramioulle each scored in back-to-back games as part of the goal output.
In just four games this season, Ramioulle has made an impact for Concord with two goals and two assists. Ramioulle is second on the team in points with six and trails only Ashton's 10 points.
Rhodes' goal at Shepherd was scored just 1:57 into the contest, the earliest a goal has been scored in a game involving CU since 2013 versus WVU Tech.
Freshman goalkeeper
Kyle Brown earned his first collegiate win at Shepherd as he made two saves in the first half. Junior goalkeeper
Michael Adedigba stopped five shots in the second half.
The Mountain Lions lost a pair of close matches to Wheeling Jesuit last season as the Cardinals won 3-2 at Anderson Field before winning on their home turf 1-0.
Ashton and sophomore defender
Pedro Bassin provided the goals for Concord at home. Senior midfielders
Michael D'Angelo and
Yacouba Issa Traore each had an assist for CU.
Two seasons ago, the Maroon and Gray went on the road in early September and knocked off Wheeling Jesuit 2-0.
Junior midfielder
Jonathan Hardman scored one of the two goals for the Mountain Lions.
WHEELING JESUIT AT A GLANCE
Of the five losses for the Cardinals, four have come by one goal.
Tyler Shotwell has saved 48 of 56 shots that have come his way this season, a percentage of .857.
