BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Concord University baseball team was eliminated in the Mountain East Conference Tournament at Linda K. Epling Stadium by the University of Charleston, 7-0
Concord ends the season at 26-25 while UC improves 31-21.
The Golden Eagles scored five runs from the second through the fourth to take charge of the game. Of the five runs, just two were charged to senior pitcher
Nate Werner.
Charleston's Adam Jafine (8-5) stymied the Concord offense, one of the best in the MEC, by limiting the Mountain Lions to five hits over his nine innings on the mound.

Werner (5-2) got the start for the Mountain Lions as he tossed 3.1 innings, allowing the two earned runs and scattering five hits. Werner struck out three batters in his final collegiate start.
Friday also marked the final collegiate games for
Eli Flynn,
Joey Lacek and
Austin Southcott. Over the last four years, the Mountain Lions won 117 games.
