ATHENS, W.Va - The Concord University softball team heads to Tennessee to face King University in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Concord enters the matchups at 8-6 overall and winners of its last three games.
King is 10-8 on the year, and has won its last four games entering Wednesday's matchup.

Mountain Lion Notes
The Mountain Lions have won three games in a row, taking the last game of the Snowbird Freeze Out Tournament against Wilmington before sweeping Winston-Salem State on the road.
King and Concord have gone 2-2 in all-time matchups between the two teams.
The two teams most recently faced each other in 2012, with King taking two games 9-1 and 10-0 over CU.
Senior shortstop
Alayna Furr currently leads all players in the Mountain East Conference in batting average, increasing her average to .469 after posting four hits in two games against WSSU on February 28.
Furr extended her hitting streak to 19 games, needing one more hit to tie the longest hitting streak of her career at 20.
Furr has hit two or more times in each of the past three games.
A 21-game hitting streak would be the most by a Concord player since the 2013 season.
Senior outfielder
Lauren Lewis also compiled a 20-game hitting streak during the 2014 season.
Junior third baseman
Alycea Watson knocked in a career-high six RBI, accounting for all of Concord's runs scored in a 6-1 win over Winston-Salem State in game one.
The New Castle, Delaware native set several other career highs against the Rams, hitting her first career triple, and posting the most hits (three), in one game in her career in the Maroon and Gray.
In game two, sophomore infielder
Kylie Kent set a career-high in hits in one game with three as well.
Sophomore pitcher/outfielder
Abby Beatty drove in the eventual game-winning runs in an extra-inning win in game two, putting a single through the right side to score Lewis and freshman second baseman/shortstop
Jenna Witt as Concord went onto win 4-3.
Senior pitcher/outfielder
Sarah Herndon closed out the game in dramatic fashion after the Rams had the tying run on first base in the bottom of the eighth with one out.
The Berryville, Virginia native snagged a line drive up the middle and doubled off the runner at first base to end the game and secure a one-run extra inning victory and the sweep of WSSU.
Herndon earned her first win of the season, moving her one win away from tying Ashley Jackson for fifth on the all-time list with 21 career victories in the circle.
Herndon also posted her 24
th career complete game, pitching all eight innings in the win.
Freshman pitcher
Darby Fitzpatrick ranks first out of all Mountain East Conference pitchers in ERA this season with an ERA of 0.70. The ERA also ranks tied for 28
th nationally across Division II at this point in the season.
Concord has won three out of its last four games played in the state of Tennessee, including two wins over Carson-Newman earlier this season.
SCOUTING KING
The Tornado has scored 52 runs in its last four games, sweeping doubleheaders against West Virginia Tech and Mars Hill.
After starting the season 0-6, the Tornado has won 10 out its last 12 contests.
King has hit 15 home runs so far this season, led by Hannah Riddle and Michaela Morris, who have three home runs apiece.
The Tornado has three players hitting .320 or higher: Danielle Parks (.321), Erin Roper (.375), Morris (.382), Candace Maness (.385), and Riddle (.475).
In addition to her three home runs this season, Riddle has hit eight double and two triples for a slugging percentage of .831.
The two teams have a common opponent this season, Carson-Newman, with King dropping 8-2 and 2-0 decisions to the Eagles on February 11.
KU is 4-4 at home.
