WISE, Va. – The Concord University men's basketball team fell to UVa.-Wise 100-92 Saturday afternoon in Mountain East Conference action at the Prior Center.
UVa.-Wise's win coupled with Urbana's last second win over Notre Dame eliminated the Mountain Lions from postseason consideration at next week's MEC Tournament.
All six ties and all six lead changes came in the first half as UVa.-Wise (9-19, 7-15 MEC) held the lead for most of the first half until the Mountain Lions (11-17, 7-15 MEC) broke off a 7-0 run with the game tied at 23-23 at the 10:31 mark to lead 30-23 with 8:19 remaining in the first half.
With the game tied for the sixth time in the first half, 45-45, UVa.-Wise finished the first half on a 9-3 run to take a 54-48 lead into the intermission.
After trailing by as many as 10, 71-61, with 12:31 left, Concord got the deficit back to within one possession on several incidences, but could never complete the comeback as it lost by eight points.

Stephen Thompson and senior guard
Aaron Miller had strong conclusions to their CU careers. Thompson finished with 27 points and nine rebounds. The Beckley, West Virginia was two points shy of tying his career high. Thompson also tied his career best with three three-pointers.
Meanwhile, Miller completed one of the most storied careers in program history. The Stephens City, Virginia notched 23 points and eight rebounds. Miller concludes his career ranking inside the top 10 in various statistical categories at Concord including points scored, 1,752, which ranks ninth in the program's history.
Senior guard
Michael Sanchez finished in double figures with 10 points and five assists while sophomore guard
Tommy Bolte added 16 points, five rebounds and eight assists in the contest.
Over Bolte's final six games of the regular season, he average 22.1 points per game, 7.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists per contest.

Cam Shannon suited up in his 113
th game Saturday afternoon, the 14
th most in school history. Shannon's 113 games played are the most for a CU player since Mike Boyd played in 114 games from 2011-2015.
