ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team plays host to the University of Charleston 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Anderson Field in a Mountain East Conference clash.

RECORDS
The Mountain Lions are 2-8-1 this season and sport a 2-4 record in the MEC.
Charleston is ranked first in all of Division II with an undefeated 11-0 mark, and is 7-0 in the league.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
CU enters the match having won two of its last three matches including MEC victories over Shepherd and Wheeling Jesuit.
The Mountain Lions narrowly lost to Chowan, 3-2, in a non-conference game Wednesday.
At Chowan, sophomore forward
Sam Ashton scored his sixth goal of the season. Ashton is just one score away from matching the season total of his rookie season.
Ashton pulled into a tie for Ryan Forde for fifth in all-time goals scored at Concord with 13. The Waterlooville, England native is also tied with Forde in seventh place in career points at CU with 27.
Freshman midfielder
Moulay Hassani sent Concord to victory against Wheeling Jesuit last weekend on the road as he recorded his second goal of the season, an overtime goal versus the Cardinals.
With CU about to navigate the double round-robin MEC slate a second time, the Maroon and Gray currently has six points, three points behind fourth place Urbana.
The top four teams make the conference tournament.
Freshman goalkeeper
Kyle Brown is the reigning MEC Defensive Player of the Week after he shutout Shepherd for the first half, and recorded a blanking of Wheeling Jesuit, 1-0, in the road overtime win.
While Ashton leads CU in goals with six, four different players are tied for the assist lead this season.

Alex Rhodes and
Yacouba Issa Traore each have two assists.
Sunday will mark the third time in the last four seasons that Charleston comes to Anderson Field as the number-one ranked team in Division II. The Golden Eagles also came to Athens sitting first nationally in 2014 and 2016.
Concord opposed UC earlier this season when it was ranked first.
Charleston won  the matchup, 4-0. Rhodes had two of the three Concord shots on goal. Brown made three saves in goal.
CHARLESTON AT A GLANCE
The Golden Eagles have allowed just five goals in 11 games this season, and three of the scores were given up in a 5-3 win over West Virginia Wesleyan.
Patrick Guier and Will Roberts have each scored five goals to lead the way for UC.
Overall, 10 players have contributed to the 30 goals scored by Charleston.
The last time UC lost an MEC game was Oct. 12, 2016 when it fell 1-0 to Urbana.
