ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team dropped a three-set match to the fifth-ranked team in Division II, Wheeling Jesuit, Friday evening in Mountain East Conference at the Carter Center.
CU falls to 6-9 overall and 1-2 in the MEC while the Cardinals improve to 14-2 and 4-0 in conference action.
WJU finished strong in all three sets as it ended the first set on a 12-6 run, the second set on an 11-2 spurt and the third set on a 10-6 run to come out with a victory in three sets.
Concord was led by sophomore middle hitter
Brooke Heck who had seven kills in 25 chances. Freshman outside hitter
Emily Ellis and sophomore outside hitter
Alexi Pranckus each added six kills with Pranckus also tallying six digs.

Erin Shannon totaled 12 digs and junior setter
Casey Mandeville handed out 15 assists.
Wheeling Jesuit was led by Lauran Graves who finished with 10 kills.
The Mountain Lions welcome UVa.-Wise to the Carter Center for a MEC match 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
