MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
Concord stands at 4-4 on the year after winning in overtime vs. Chowan on Wednesday. Notre Dame College heads into the matchup at 4-3. The Bobcats are 4-5 on the season.

Concord has not won or lost consecutive matches this season

The Mountain Lions last win against Chowan came after falling to number-one ranked Charleston

The win over Chowan gives CU its fourth win of the season, the first time the program has accomplished that feat since 2012.

The victory also saw the Mountain Lions score four goals in a game for the second time this season, with the other occurrence taking place in CU's 4-0 win over Shepherd on September 11th.

While Concord had four different goal scorers against Shepherd, the Mountain Lions only had two different players score against Chowan.

Freshman forward Sam Ashton and freshman midfielder Yacouba Issa Traore each had two scores to lead Concord against the Hawks.

The pair of goals for Ashton now gives him four on the season, while Traore picked up his second and third tallies of 2016.

A set piece was once again important for CU as the opening goal for the Mountain Lions came off of a delivery from junior midfielder Max Simpson in which Traore flicked in off of the underside of the crossbar.

Concord has scored five goals off of set pieces this season, two off of corner kicks, two off of free kicks, and one off of a throw in.

The five set piece goals account for one third of Concord's total goals this season.

Included in one of those set pieces is another assist from Simpson that freshman defender Pedro Bassin nodded into the goal to beat West Virginia Wesleyan in overtime on September 18th.

On the defensive side of the ball, sophomore goalkeeper Michael Adedigba made five saves to earn the win in goal for CU. The win gives Adedigba a winning 3-2 record on the year.

Adedigba has had solid support from freshmen defender Dean Byrne and Bassin, as well as sophomore defender Xander Bailey and senior defender Jared Garlow.

CU's opponents average just six shots per game on target.

SCOUTING NOTRE DAME
The Falcons have overcome a slow start to the season in which they started 1-3, scoring six goals over that span.

Recently, NDC has picked up the goal scoring, as the Falcons have compiled three wins in a row, scoring 13 goals over that time span.

Leonardo Paiva leads the way up front for the Falcons, with 12 goals and two assists this season.  Arthur Favero has added three goals and two assists.

The Falcons are currently level on points with Charleston for first place in the MEC.

SCOUTING WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN
The Bobcats have now won back to back contests, defeating Shepherd 3-1 before topping Shippensburg 2-1. Both contests were at home.

Concord earned its first ever win against WVWC this season, a 2-1 victory in overtime. However, the Mountain Lions have never won a contest in Buckhannon.

WVWC has won all four of its total victories at home, and is winless on the road.  The only two losses the Bobcats have suffered at home have been by a one-goal margin.

Included in those home wins is a 2-1 victory over NDC.

Juwon Akintunde leads the Bobcats in scoring with three goals this year, including the opening goal against CU in Athens this season.  Three other players have netted twice for the Bobcats.
