The Mountain Lions head into the matchup on a high note after defeating West Virginia Wesleyan 2-1 on Sunday to even their record at 3-3 on the year.

The Golden Eagles head into the matchup with an unblemished 6-0 record. Charlesoton is ranked number one in Division II by the National Soccer Coaches Association of American Poll.

Concord earned its first ever positive result against West Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday with a 2-1 overtime win.

CU had lost all ten of its previous matchups with the Bobcats heading into Sunday.

The Mountain Lions will have an opportunity to repeat that feat on Thursday, as they have never defeated Charleston in 13 previous games.

Freshman defender Pedro Bassin scored the game winning goal in double overtime, his second of the season, in Concord's win over WVWC

Both of Bassin's goals have been headers.

Junior midfielder Max Simpson continued his strong start to the season, delivering the assist to Bassin and tallying another assist to mark his season total to three goals and two assists.

Simpson has eight points on the season and is just two shy of matching last year's total of 10.

Bassin has scored his two goals on just four shots.

Freshman midfielder Yacouba Issa Traore scored his first collegiate goal for Concord to equalize against the Bobcats on Sunday.

Concord had lost its last two overtime fixtures, and six of its last seven overall before defeating the Bobcats in extra time.

Concord has scored 10 goals this season, which ties the total amount of goals it scored all of 2015.

The current goal output for the Mountain Lions puts them on pace for 28 goals this season.

The last time Concord scored 25 goals in a season was in 2012.

Defensively, Concord has allowed one goal or fewer in three games this season.

The key players in keeping opponents out of goal this season along with goalkeepers, freshman James Sinclair and sophomore Michael Adedigba, has been the backline defending of sophomore Xander Bailey, freshman Dean Byrne, Bassin, senior Jared Garlow  and Traore.

Concord is 3-0 in the three games they have given up one goal or less.

Traore's goal marks the sixth different goal scorer for CU this season

Concord has hosted Charleston when it was ranked number one two of the past three years.
