GLENVILLE, W.Va- Concord used efficient shooting to stall Glenville State in the second half of an 86-78 victory over the Pioneers on Saturday at the Waco Center.
Concord improves to 16-6 overall (11-5 MEC), while Glenville State drops to 8-14 (5-11 MEC).
Concord jumped out to an 11 point lead with 13:03 left in the first half after senior forward

Babe Murphy underneath the basket for a layup. Glenville State would continue to chip away at Concord's lead however, and got to within five two times in the first half before Concord went on a 15-6 run to give the Mountain Lions a 43-34 advantage over the Pioneers after 20 minutes. Junior guard
Aaron Miller made several big baskets in the first half in a 13-point effort through the opening period.
Concord attempted to pull away from the Pioneers in the second half, extending their lead to 15 after senior guard
Rob Reed drained a three-pointer with 14:10 left to go in the game. The two teams continued to trade baskets as Concord looked to put the game away, taking as much as an 18 point lead with three minutes left in the game. Concord would continue to answer Glenville's scoring possessions, and the Pioneers couldn't manage to reduce the deficit to less than 10 until the final 20 seconds.
Reed tied for the game-high in scoring with 22 points. Miller added 18 points, Hopewell chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds, and senior forward
Jametrius Wade added 10 points and six rebounds. Concord had seven players score six or more points during the game. The Mountain Lions held the advantage in rebounds 39-31, and shot 55 percent from the field (33-for-60). Concord had five players with five or more rebounds: Hopewell, Miller, Wade, junior forward
Stephen Thompson, and Reed.
Sedric Nady led the Pioneers with 22 points, while Brett Morris added 18 points on just nine shots.
Concord will continue their road swing when they travel to the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia in a two-game road trip at Wheeling Jesuit and West Liberty beginning Thursday, February 11th.
