ATHENS, W.Va. – After announcing the signing of seven players on National Signing Day, Concord's athletic website will take a more in-depth look at the Concord University women's soccer recruiting class. Today will take a closer look at forward Rachel Nicely
Name: Rachel Nicely
Hometown: Vinton, Virginia
High School: William Byrd
Position: Forward
"Rachel has a work ethic like no other, and her blue collar worker mindset will fit perfectly into our culture here at CU," said Head Coach
Amanda Malkiewicz. "Her speed and agility will make it very tough for defenders to keep up with her. There is no doubt that Rachel is a true winner."
While at William Byrd, Nicely was a four year letterwinner in both track and field and soccer Nicely was named first team all-district, first team all-conference, and second-team all-region for soccer. She was also named first team all conference, first team all-region, and 1st team all-state in track and field. She finished as the runner up in the 55 meter dash at the AAA 2015 State Track Meet.
Nicely was also a member of the A/B Honor roll all four years of high school and was a part of the National Beta Club.
Nicely plans to major in Athletic Training while at Concord.
