Women's Soccer Recruiting Profile: Nikki Hansen

ATHENS, W.Va. – After announcing the signing of seven players on National Signing Day, Concord's athletic website will take a more in-depth look at the Concord University women's soccer recruiting class.  Today will take a closer look at midfielder/defender Nikki Hansen.

Name: Nikki Hansen
Hometown: Lumberton, N.C.
High School: Lumberton
Position: Midfielder/Defender

"Nikki is a completely fearless player who is very versatile with where she plays on the field," said Head Coach Amanda Malkiewicz. "She can be flashy with the ball at her feet, or she can lock down and contain her opponent in her 1v1 defending. I like to think of Nikki as a diamond in the rough. I am glad that CU is her perfect fit!"

While at Lumberton, Hansen excelled both as a soccer player and on the course as a cross country runner.  Hansen was a four year letterwinner and soccer, and a three year letterwinner in cross country.

Hansen earned all-conference honors her sophomore and junior years, and was an all-region selection her junior year as well.  She was also named all-conference in cross country her first three years of high school.  She also helped lead Lumberton to a North Carolina 4A Conference regular season and conference tournament championship.

Hansen also was honored for her academic achievements while at Lumberton, as she was selected to the Superintendent's Academic Awards in 2013 and 2014, as well as being inducted into the Beta Club and earning an Academic Booster Club letter.  Hansen was also a member of the National Honor Society her junior and senior year.

Hansen plans to major in business while at Concord.
