ATHENS, W.Va- The Concord University women's soccer concluded its season with a 1-1 draw against West Liberty in Mountain East Conference action on Saturday afternoon. 
Concord finishes the year at 3-10-5, while West Liberty is 6-7-5.   
 
Concord and West Liberty battled for the first 28 minutes without much action on goal before junior midfielder 
Micharae Thompson fired a shot wide of the goal. Sophomore midfielder 
Joanna Aiello then forced West Liberty goalkeeper Allie Warsaw into action in the 32
nd minute. 
However, West Liberty tallied the first goal on its first shot of the game from a free kick by Caitlin De Vries. The score came in the 35th.
Aiello forced another save from Warsaw in the 35
th minute, but the Mountain Lions could not convert any chances into goals as the Hilltoppers took a 1-0 lead into halftime. 
In the second half, senior goalkeeper 
Lacie Geisel, who started in the field for today's matchup, poked a shot at Warsaw in the 57
th minute. 
The shot was the only shot on goal in the second half for the Mountain Lions until the 76
th minute when junior defender 
Sarah Akers crossed a ball from a free kick that Aiello managed to flick on with her head.  Thompson reacted quickest in front of goal and roofed a shot into the upper left corner of the net to tie the game. 
Concord had several more chances to close the game as sophomore forward 
Pilar Elias and freshman forward 
Megan Walsh each had chances go wide of the goal in the final 10 minutes of regulation. 
The two teams only managed one shot in the two overtime periods, with West Liberty's Nikki Lolua forcing sophomore goalkeeper 
Emily Simpkins into a Simpkins into a low save on her right side to keep the score at 1. 
Simpkins made two saves in goal for Concord  on the day. 
Concord outshot WLU 13-5, with a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal. 
Saturday's match marked the last games for senior defenders

Cassidy Maynard and 
Olivia Reilly, senior midfielders 
Margot Provencher, 
Emily Cole, and Geisel.
