ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University volleyball team defeated Glenville State in three sets (25-11, 26-24, 25-16) Friday night in Mountain East Conference action at the Carter Center.
CU improves to 11-11 on the season and 5-4 in MEC play while Glenville State falls 1-22 overall and 0-7 in the league.
Leading by just five points, 14-9, in the first set the Mountain Lions scored 11 of the final 13 points in game one to take a 1-0 lead. Junior middle hitter

In the second set, the Mountain Lions raced out to a 17-7 lead as sophomore middle hitter

Lisette Roldan each had two kills. However, Glenville State scored the next 10 points to even up the set 17-17. From there, the set went back and forth with neither team leading by more than one point. After a GSC attack error gave Concord a 25-24 edge, sophomore outside hitter
Alexi Pranckus finished off a CU second set win with a service ace.
The third set started like the second set finished with Concord holding an 11-10 advantage. The Maroon and Gray ran off the next six points as Pranckus had two kills and Heck and Hoffman each contributed one. Up 17-10, the Mountain Lions finished off GSC as they won the third set, 25-16, and the match, 3-0.
Pranckus notched a team-high eight kills while sophomore middle hitter
Lindsay Lannen tallied six kills in eight chances without an error and also added three blocks. Ellis had four kills and six blocks and Heck added seven kills and four blocks.

Erin Shannon registered 19 digs. Mandeville made it seven straight contests with 20 or more assists as she finished with 21.
The Mountain Lions hosts West Virginia Wesleyan 11:00 a.m. Saturday before taking on Winston-Salem State 3:00 p.m. Saturday.
