ATHENS, W.Va- The Concord University women's basketball team fell to visiting Wheeling Jesuit 63-39 on Saturday at the Carter Center.
The Mountain Lions fall to 3-11 (2-7 MEC), while WJU improves to 13-2 overall (8-1 MEC).
Concord came out of the gate slow in the first half, shooting just 23.3 percent through the opening 20 minutes of action. The Cardinals managed to shoot only 40.6 percent themselves in the first half, and were propelled by Jaila Bryant's 11 points in the second half.
Freshman guard
Emily Boothe scored in double figures for the second consecutive game after notching a career-high 26 points in her last outing at Urbana.
Sophomore guard
Lindsey Overbey chipped in nine points off the bench. Senior forward
Kylie Molisee and junior guard
Olivia Morgan combined for 16 rebounds.
For Overbey, who attempted seven shots on the afternoon and made four of those; it was the best she has shot since going 9-for-16 against Glenville State. Additionally, it was the highest field-goal percentage for Overbey this season when attempted at least five shots.
Concord next faces the Hilltoppers of West Liberty on Monday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Carter Center.
