BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Concord University softball team was eliminated from the NCAA Atlantic Regional Two Tournament Saturday afternoon as it dropped a pair of games at Culpepper Field.
CU fell in the morning 4-0 to West Virginia Wesleyan before losing an elimination game 4-3 to Seton Hill in the nightcap.
Game 1: West Virginia Wesleyan 4 – Concord 0 WVWC's Hannah Vet limited the Mountain Lions to five hits as she pitched a complete-game shutout of Concord.
The Bobcats supported Vet with four runs in the second inning, all unearned, to take a 4-0 lead on Concord en route to the win.

Allie Reid led the offense with two hits while freshman
Emily Fry, sophomore shortstop
Alayna Furr and senior pitcher / first baseman
Lacey McDougall finished with one hit each.
Reid was charged with the loss as she gave up 10 hits, but did not surrender an earned run in six innings of work. Reid also struck out three batters.
The Lovettsville, Virginia native ends the season with an 11-5 record and team-best 1.58 ERA.
Game 2: Seton Hill 4 – Concord 3SHU scored two runs in the second and two in the third as Concord could not quite complete the comeback against the Griffins.
After Seton Hill's Ashley Perillo's two-run home run made it 4-0 in the third, the Mountain Lions answered back with two in the fourth as junior catcher
Alyssa Morris led off the inning with a home run, a line drive shot to left center field.
And Reid scored sophomore outfielder
Lauren Lewis, who ripped triple into right field, on a sacrifice fly.
McDougall recorded an RBI single in the sixth, scoring junior second baseman
Kristen Rose, to trim the deficit to 4-3. But, CU would not get any closer as they lost by the slimmest of margins.
McDougall (14-8) was charged with the loss as she went two innings, allowing three hits and two runs.
At the plate, McDougall was 3-for-3 with one RBI. Morris had two hits, a double and her 15
th home run of the season.
Concord finishes the season at 34-19, a school record for wins in a season. CU also earned the school's first NCAA berth in softball history and won its first NCAA playoff game 3-1 over West Chester Friday afternoon.
