WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Junior forward
Terry Hopewell finished the game against West Liberty with 11 points and 14 rebounds, but the Concord University men's basketball team lost to WLU 99-71 in Mountain East Conference action Thursday night.
After playing tight with the Hilltoppers (19-2, 14-2 MEC) over the first eight minutes, Concord (14-7, 10-6 MEC) found themselves trailing 20-13 with 12:15 remaining in the first half against nationally-ranked West Liberty.
However, CU was held scoreless for nearly four minutes in the middle part of the first half as West Liberty increased its lead form 27-19 to 37-19 with 4:51 remaining until halftime.
WLU took a 50-29 lead into halftime.
The Mountain Lions were only able to get the deficit back under 20 twice in the second half as West Liberty won by 28.

Aaron Miller scored a team-high 17 points on 8-for-14 shooting while junior guard
Rob Reed came off the CU bench to score 15 points, making three of Concord's four three-point baskets.
A fourth Mountain Lion finished in double figures, junior forward
Jametrius Wade scored 11 points.
Concord outrebound West Liberty 50-41 as senior guard
Paul Byrd grabbed a season-high six rebounds to finish as CU's second-highest rebounder.
CU will continue its roadtrip 3:00 p.m. Saturday against Wheeling Jesuit.
