Courtney Purtell was 3-for-7 Â with two runs scored, an RBI and two doubles.
Game 1: Pfeiffer 4 – Concord 3The Mountain Lions could not erase an early two-run deficit as they fell 4-3.
Each team scored a single run in the first two innings with Concord's junior pitcher
Allie Reid lacing an RBI double to right center field in the first inning that scored Purtell. Senior first baseman/pitcher
Brantlea Wood produced an RBI single in the second that plated freshman shortstop / third baseman

The Falcons (2-0) knocked in two additional runs in the third to take a 4-2 lead over CU.
Concord (2-2) responded with McDougall's solo home run in the sixth inning to pull within 4-3.
The Mountain Lions were unable to capitalize off of a lead-off double in the seventh inning from junior outfielder
Kristi Benvenuto and fell by the one-run deficit.
McDougall (1-1) pitched six innings striking out seven batters and only two of her four runs were earned.
Game 2: Pfeiffer 7- Concord 5A four-run sixth inning by Pfeiffer was too much for the Mountain Lions to overcome as they narrowly lost 7-5.
The Falcons jumped out on CU early with three runs in the third inning.
However in the Concord fourth inning, the Mountain Lions rallied with three runs of their own. The inning began with a solo home run by junior catcher

Morris's home run came with two outs in the inning and CU proceeded to pound out four straight hits to keep the inning going. Concord received RBI singles from Benvenuto and Purtell as the run-scoring base hits plated freshman utility player Alyssa Bonham and Watson respectively.
Concord broke through in the sixth inning courtesy of passed ball that scored senior second baseman
Whitney Carrigan, who was pinch running for Benvenuto. Benvenuto had led off the inning by drawing a walk. Carrigan moved to third on Purtell's double.
After Carrigan's run, sophomore outfielder
Lauren Lewis knocked in Purtell with an RBI base hit.
However, the Falcons hit a three-run homer and scored on an RBI single in the seventh to overpower Concord 7-5.
Reid (0-1) was charged in the loss as she gave up six earned runs in six innings of work.
