Complete Game NotesATHENS, W.Va. - After ending its two-game losing streak with wins over Charleston and West Virginia State at the Carter Center last week, the Concord University men's basketball team will take its two-game winning streak on the road to Fairmont State 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Shepherd 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

RECORDS• Concord enters play with a rcord of 16-8 overall and 12-7 in the Mountain East Conference as the occupy the fourth spot in the standings.
• Fairmont State is second in the MEC at 14-5 and they are 17-8 overall.
• Shepherd has compiled a record of 13-12 this season with an 8-11 mark.
THE COACHES• Concord's
Kent McBride is 57-52 in the midst of the fourth season at his alma mater.
• Jerrod Calhoun has amassed a record of 52-21 in three season at Fairmont State.
• Shepherd's Justin Namolik is three wins shy of 100 for his career as he has a career mark of 97-99 in six seasons at Shepherd.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES• The Mountain Lions got what is potentially their biggest win of the season as they defeated Charleston 68-63 Feb. 12.
• Junior forward
Jametrius Wade paced the Concord attack by scoring 17 points and grabbing six rebounds in the win that vaulted CU into a tie for fourth in the league standings.
• On Saturday against WVSU, junior guard and reigning MEC Player of the Week
Rob Reed exploded for 40 points as he tied a school and Mountain East Conference record by making 10 three-pointers in a 98-75 win.
• Concord's win combined with another Charleston loss propelled CU to the fourth spot in the league standings as they start the week with a 16-8 overall mark and a 12-7 record versus MEC foes.
• Fairmont State will start the week with a record of 17-8 overall and 14-5 in the conference, placing them second.
• Meanwhile, Shepherd enters league play this week at 13-12 overall and 8-11 against MEC competition.
• Looking further into Reed's performance Saturday showed that he became the first Concord player to record at 30 poins in two or more games in a season since Javaughn Acree-Manuel during the 2011-2012 season.
• After only scoring 20 or more points twice this season, Reed has now scored 30 or more in two of the last three contests.
• The South Bend, Indiana native scored 31 points against Wheeling Jesuit Feb. 7.
• In his first three seasons at Concord, McBride had never had a player earn conference player of the week honors.
• However, this season McBride has now had two players receive POW accolades after senior guard
Mike Boyd earned the honor in December.
• Speaking of Boyd, the Cincinnati, Ohio native notched a double-double of 11 points and 10 assists on Senior Day versus West Virginia State.
• It was the third career double-double for Boyd and he was also just one assist away from matching his career high.
• Boyd will begin the week sixth among active Division II players in assists with 491.
• On Saturday, Boyd also passed Keyode Rogers for fifth on the career assist list at CU.
• When Boyd reaches 500 assists he will be the fifth player to accomplish the milestone joining McBride, Steve Kidd, Don Christie and Chuck Scott.
• Furthermore, Boyd would be the only CU player to record 1,000 points and 500 assists during his career.
• Also on Saturday, Wade recorded a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds.
• It was the Detroit, Michigan native's fifth of the season.
• CU grabbed a season-high 54 rebounds against West Virginia State as the Mountain Lions held a +12 advantage on the boards.
• On Jan. 10, Concord picked up a 94-91 win at home versus Fairmont State as Boyd (24 points) and sophomore guard
Aaron Miller (20 points) led the Mountain Lions in the win.
• CU also shot a shot season-high 60.4 percent from the field including Boyd (75 percent), junior forward
Terry Hopewell (62.5 percent), Miller (60 percent) and Reed (66.7 percent) all shooting 60 percent or better from the field.
• In the final 5:10 of the game, Boyd was 6-for-6 at the free-throw line as he helped secure the narrow win for the Maroon and Gray.
• This season, Boyd is 43-for-50 (86 percent) at the charity stripe in the final five minutes of games which is higher than his total season foul shooting percentage of 81.8.
• The win over Fairmont State jump started a four-game winning streak for the Mountain Lions.
• Against Shepherd, CU prevailed 80-74 as Miller scored a career-high 35 points with a career-tying six mad three-pointers.
• Fairmont State will be looking to end a two-game losing streak that came on the heels of winning nine in a row after losing to Concord.
• Fairmont State is led by two-time MEC Player of the Week Nick Harney who is averaging 17.2 points per game (ppg) and 6.3 rebounds per contest.
• FSU's Jamel Morris is fifth in the MEC in scoring at 18.2 ppg.
• SU is trying to end a two-game skid as well.
• The Rams' Morgan McDonald is averaging 15.9 ppg and 7.4 rebounds.
A CONCORD WIN WOULD...• A Concord win over Fairmont State would be the first time the Mountain Lions have beaten the Falcons twice in a row since before the 2001-2002 season.
• A Concord win over Shepherd would break an all-time series tie at 21-21.
• A Concord win over Fairmont State and Shepherd would surpass the most wins for McBride in a single season at CU with 18.
