State Only)ATHENS, W.Va. - The Concord University men's basketball team will play two of its final three home games this week, 7:30 p.m. Thursday versus Charleston and 4:00 p.m. Saturday against West Virginia State as the Mountain Lions triy to put a two-game losing skid behind them.

RECORDS• Concord is 14-8 this season and sports a record of 10-7 in the Mountain East Conference, sitting one game behind Charleston in the standings.
• UC is 16-7 overall and 11-6 in conference play as it holds onto the four seed in the MEC standings.
• W.Va. State is 3-21 overall and 3-13 against conference foes.
THE COACHES•
Kent McBride is 55-52 in four seasons at his alma mater.
• Dwaine Osborne is 37-16 in his two seasons as coach at Charleston.
• WVSU's Brian Poore is 282-189 in 16 seasons as the Yellow Jackets head coach.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES• CU will be looking to rebound from losing two road games in the past week, West Liberty and at Wheeling Jesuit.
• Prior to Saturday's contest with WVSU, Concord will recognize senior guards
Mike Boyd and
Paul Byrd for Senior Day festivities.
• Boyd is one of most accomplished guards in school history as he appeared in 107 games with 104 starts for the Mountain Lions.
• Boyd has tallied 477 assists in his career which ranks sixth in school history and can pass Keyode Rogers for fifth all-time by passing out 10 more assists.
• Additionally, Boyd's ranks inside the top 25 at Concord in points (21st / 1,297), free throws made (fourth / 429) and made field goals (24th / 384).
• For the 2014-15 season, Boyd is averaging 13.9 points per game and 5.2 assists per game, an MEC-best.
• As for Byrd, he has appeared in 70 games with 36 starts in his three-year career at Concord.
• This season, Byrd has started all 19 games in which he has appeared in.
• By making 10 more three-point baskets, Byrd would move into the top 30 in school in made three-pointers.
• Even though the Mountain Lions lost to Wheeling Jesuit, junior guard
Rob Reed notched a career-high 31 points as he shot 50 percent from the floor (11-for-22) while also connecting a career-high six three-pointers.
• Out of his last 11 contests, Reed has scored in double figures nine times.
• After notching his sixth double-double of the season against West Liberty, junior forward
Terry Hopewell is now tied with junior forward
Jametrius Wade for the team lead in rebounds per game (7.9).
• If the duo continues their current pace, they would be the first set of Concord teammates to average 7.5 or more rebounds per game for an entire season since the 1997-98 season (Kelly Mann, James Doyle).
• CU go for the regular season split against Charleston after falling 70-65 against the Golden Eagles on the road Jan. 8.
• Sophomore guard
B.J. Hamlet led the Mountain Lions in scoring with 15 points as he shot 6-for-10 from the field and connected on 3-of-6 three-point attempts.
• Additionally, Hamlet grabbed a career-high eight boards against the Golden Eagles.
• Charleston had two players go for double-doubles in the first matchup, Aleksander Kesic (18 points, 10 rebounds) and Jevonte Hughes (10 points and 10 rebounds).
• Charleston is just one of two MEC teams that CU's
Kent McBride has to beat his career.
• Wade had a historic day in his first career game at West Virginia State Jan. 17. The Detroit, Michigan native produced the MEC's third 20-20 game as he scored 24 points and pulled down 20 rebounds.
• Wade shot 9-for-16 from the floor and nine of his 20 boards came on the offensive end.
• The Mountain Lions had a season-high 22 second-chance points at WVSU and 10 of those points came off of Wade's effort on the offensive glass.
• The Yellow Jackets were able to score 50 bench points versus Concord as Dominic Phillips (20) and Tyrie Elliott (18) combined for 38 of the 50.
• However, CU's bench scored 30 points, its second largest output of the season to that point.
• Reed scored 15 points while junior forward
Taylor Smith recorded eight points.
• The Mountain Lions are 13-1 when they hold the opposition to 80 points or fewer.
A CONCORD WIN WOULD...• A Concord win over either Charleston or W.Va. State would be the fastest CU has gotten to 15 wins since the 2003-2004 season (18 games).
• A Concord win over Charleston would be the first for CU since Dec. 11, 2010.
• A Concord win over W.Va. State would give the Mountain Lions a 7-1 record against the Yellow Jackets under McBride.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS9- Number of most home wins under McBride. CU can surpass that if it sweeps UC and WVSU.
63- Number of career blocks for Hopewell, eighth all-time at Concord.
