Concord Falls to Charleston

Box Score ATHENS, W.Va-The Concord University women's basketball team fell 60-39 to the visiting University of Charleston Golden Eagles on Monday evening at the Carter Center
 
CU falls to 2-3 on the season (1-1 MEC), while Charleston improves to 3-1 (1-1 MEC).
 
Concord and Charleston battled all throughout the first half, with both teams relying on defense to gain an advantage.  Concord held Charleston to just 25 percent shooting in the first half. With Concord holding a 20-16 lead at the intermission, the third quarter was the deciding factor in the game as UC held the Mountain Lions to five points while scoring 21 of its own.
 
Senior forward Kylie Molisee had 14 points for the Mountain Lions, while also contributing eight rebounds.  Sophomore guard Lindsey Overbey had nine points, and sophomore guard Danielle Catron scored seven points for CU.  Freshman guard Emily Boothe dished out a career-high four assists and helped Concord to 12 assists on 14 made shots for the game.
 
Concord continues conference play when they host Glenville State on December 3.
