PLAYOFF SCENARIOSScenario 1: A Concord win against either Shepherd OR Fairmont State AND a loss by Urbana to either West Virginia Wesleyan OR Glenville State would put Concord into the MEC Tournament.
Scenario 2: A Concord win against Shepherd AND a loss to Fairmont State coupled with an Urbana loss would allow the Mountain Lions to jump over Shepherd in the standings and be the seven seed in the league tournament.
Scenario 3: If Urbana would win both matches against West Virginia Wesleyan and Glenville State, Concord would have to follow suit and win both matches. If UU, CU and WVWC all finish 7-9 in the standings then Concord would be eliminated based on tiebreakers to both teams.
MOUNTAIN LION NOTES• Over her last three matches, freshman outside hitter
Alexi Pranckus has 40 kills including a career-high 21 kills versus UVa.-Wise Nov. 3.
• Pranckus needs just 10 more kills to eclipse 300 for the season.
• Freshman middle hitter
Brooke Heck appears to be well on her way to breaking the single-season mark for best hitting percentage in Concord history.
• The Huntington, West Virginia native is hitting .361 this season, second among players in the MEC, and is 51 points ahead of the current record for single-season hitting percentage held by
Sarah Jones and Jasmin Sutherland.
• Heck has hit .400 or better in five consecutive matches and this season she has hit .500 or better in seven matches.
• Freshman libero
Erin Shannon is fifth in the conference in digs this season with 404 and break into the top 10 in single-season digs with 36 over the weekend.
• In 13 of her last 14 matches, Shannon has had 10 or more digs and four 20 or more dig matches during the stretch.
• Shannon is fifth in the MEC in digs and third among liberoes trailing on West Liberty's Courtney Pyeritz and Shepherd's Kelsey Anderson.
• Heading into the weekend, sophomore setter
Casey Mandeville has a streak of 13 straight matches in which she has notched 10 or more assists.
• Last season, Mandeville had a similar streak of 15 consecutive matches with double-digit assists.
• This will be the second straight year Concord has had to go on the road to face Fairmont State and Shepherd.
• The Mountain Lions were swept by both teams last season in three sets.
• Sophomore middle hitter
Shea Hoffman notched six blocks at Shepherd while fellow sophomore hitter
Alexis Elliott tallied three blocks.
• Elliott and Hoffman each added four blocks against the Fighting Falcons.
SCOUTING SHEPHERD• Shepherd's Cyera Dixon is fifth in the MEC in assists this season with 773.
• The Rams come into the weekend 3-3 in their last six matches with wins over Notre Dame, Urbana and Bowie State while losing to Fairmont State, West Virginia Wesleyan and Davis & Elkins.
• Shepherd faces UVa.-Wise Thursday night before hosting the Mountain Lions Friday.
SCOUTING FAIRMONT STATE• Fairmont State is third in the conference in hitting percentage at .207, and FSU's Courtney Kress is hitting .292 with 248 kills this season.
• Kaitlyn Witsaman is fifth in the league kills with 282 while Mackenzie Harrison is sixth having totaled 270 kills.
• Fairmont State has already clinched a playoff spot in the upcoming MEC Tournament.
